What is PRF and How Does It Work?

PRF is entirely autologous (derived from your own body), making it one of the safest and most natural treatments available.

The Process:

  1. Blood Draw: A small sample of your blood is drawn, similar to a standard blood test.

  2. Specialized Centrifugation: The blood is placed into a specialized centrifuge and spun at a lower speed than traditional PRP. This technique results in a higher concentration of beneficial cells and, crucially, preserves the fragile fibrin matrix.

  3. The Fibrin Matrix: This fibrin structure acts as a natural scaffolding, holding the platelets and growth factors in place and releasing them slowly over 7 to 10 days. This extended release period provides superior, long-lasting stimulation.

  4. Injection/Application: The PRF is injected into target areas (e.g., under the eyes) or applied topically during procedures like microneedling.

2. The Procedure

Blood is drawn, processed in the centrifuge, and then injected into the target area or applied during microneedling.

3. Immediately After

Mild swelling, redness, or bruising is common, especially under the eyes. This usually subsides quickly.

4. Treatment Schedule

PRF is typically performed in a series of 3 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, for maximum regenerative effect.
